To bridge the gap between opportunity, need, and connection in veterinary work.
In veterinary work, good opportunities and urgent staffing needs do not always meet as quickly as they should. Clinics can struggle to find cover, clinicians can miss relevant work, and students can find it difficult to build the right relationships and placement routes.
My Vet Locum was built to make those connections more direct, more practical, and more accessible.
The problem behind it
Some places and situations make veterinary connection harder than it should be.
Some areas face a harder time finding reliable veterinary cover than others. Clinics can struggle to fill shifts. Clinicians can struggle to find the right opportunities. Students can struggle to find meaningful placement routes and real professional connections.
That gap can slow everything down — especially when the need is urgent and the right people are not already connected.
Why it is personal
This platform comes from lived experience, not just observation.
As a vet, I have seen how difficult it can be when clinics need cover and the right connections are not already in place.
But this is personal in another way too. As an international student living in the UK, I know what it feels like to build a life and career in a place where your network is still growing and local connections do not always come easily.
That experience shaped My Vet Locum into something that aims to make connection easier, more accessible, and more practical for people who might otherwise feel disconnected or overlooked.
